CRB Updates 2012/2013: From 1st September 2012, the CRB introduced new identity checking guidelines. These new guidelines will apply to all applications for a CRB check.
The latest issued guidance can be downloaded from the homepage of the Home Office website in the 'Latest from the CRB'www.homeoffice.gov.uk/crb and includes a number of further updates to the accepted documents. These are: section at
The current Non-UK Photo Driving Licence (Group 2a) - Now states that this can be used up to 12 months from the date the applicant entered the UK. Please note - This document may still be used to verify the identity for individuals prior to arriving in the UK.
Work Permit/Visa (Group 2b) - Now states valid up to the expiry date.
The letter from the head teacher/College Principal (Group 2b) - Now states 16 - 19 year olds but must be UK only.
The Home Office website also includes the latest FAQs and updated scenarios to help determine when an ID documentation check has been completed. The FAQs and the scenarios can be found in the 'Reminder - last day for using existing identity checking guidelines is 31 August' news story found under the 'Latest from the CRB' section on the Home Office website.
The e-CRB system will be updated to show only valid forms of ID. All RFU website information will be monitored and updated in accordance with future changes.
Server Upgrade For The New Season 2012/2013: In readiness for the upcoming season (2012/2013) we have upgraded all the web servers used for RugbyFirst, this upgrade went live 2012 and has doubled the processing power (CPU) on all the web servers we use.
This change has increased the response times on all the RugbyFirst systems (Clubs Portal, Player Registrations, Competitions etc.) and should provide a better and quicker user experience.
