Welcome to the website of Clacton Rugby Club. We are a committee-run club, based on the coast of North East Essex, and we currently run two adult teams that play on Saturdays. We also have Youth teams from Under13 through to Under17 levels, plus our 'Minis' from Under 9 to Under 12. Our club colours are Maroon shirts, with Navy shorts and Maroon socks.
For the 2009/10 season our First XV are competing in Essex League Division One, whilst the second team, the Kestrels, are in Division Two of the Suffolk Merit League. Tuesday is our 'training night', with the sessions running from 7.15 pm to 9.00 pm, and new players are always welcome.
Our youth section offers training for ages 8 to 17 on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday evenings, see youth pages for details. Matches, plus additional training, is on Sunday with either a 10.30 am / 11.00 am kick off. We seek to expand the number of youth teams, and welcome players of all ages.
Our home ground, incorporating two pitches, is on the Vista Road Recreation Ground in Clacton-on-Sea, and this is where our clubhouse, with its newly improved changing rooms and bar, is situated. Both ground and clubhouse are best reached off Valley Road in Clacton, and for 'sat-nav' purposes, the postcode is CO15 6NA. There is a good-sized car park, which we share with the local indoor bowling club. We have floodlights to our second pitch, which is used for general training purposes, plus a dedicated training area for scrumage and throwing which is also floodlit.
