CRB Fee Increase
The RFU, as a Registered Body with the CRB, have been contacted and advised that the current fee of £36 for enhanced (non-volunteer) applications will increase to £44 from 6th April 2011 onwards. The following is a segment from the correspondence we received :-
For the past five years we have managed to keep the cost of an Enhanced CRB check frozen and in 2009 we reduced the cost of a Standard CRB check by £5. This has been achieved through internal efficiency savings; lower development costs and improved demand forecasting.
However, as a result of recent Government changes to the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS), the cost of an Enhanced CRB check needs to increase by £8 from 6 April 2011. All other fees will remain unchanged.
From 6 April 2011, the following fee levels will apply throughout the remainder of 2011/12.
- Enhanced CRB check £44.00
- Standard CRB check £26.00
- ISA Adult First check £6.00
CRB Checks for volunteers will continue to be free of charge which provided a saving to the voluntary sector of approximately £32 million in 2010/11.
As mentioned above, CRB applications for volunteers will continue to be free of charge.
Any CRB application received by the RFU will require payment (or confirmation payment has been made if via money transfer) before the application will be processed. Therefore, please ensure if submitting applications for non volunteer’s that payment of £44 (per application) is provided.
Applications for non volunteers made via the RFU’s CRB e-Application system will be invoiced accordingly.
As a result of these changes, it is important that any ID verifier is extra vigilant when completing the volunteer status section of either the paper or electronic application.
The RFU would be very grateful if you could forward this email to anyone else within your organisation that may deem it relevant.
