TEIGNMOUTH UNDER 11 RUGBY
Sunday 11th Oct 09
TEIGNMOUTH 24 -V- OKEHAMPTON 7
Teignmouth’s Under 11’s started the Season with a good performance against a well organised Okehampton side. Teignmouth controlled large parts of the game with some excellent ball control and running rugby; the forwards played with great desire supporting the backs well who were spreading the ball wide stretching the Okehampton defence at every chance. Archie Pope scored the game’s first try driving over from close range and Jason Jervis scored the second beating two defenders after some good passing from Dan Woollnough and Jamie Kelly.
The second half started well for Teignmouth with Nick Langley-Pope scoring Teignmouth’s third after a penatrating run from Freddie Fearnly who was proving hard to tackle all match. Teignmouth were keeping Okehampton in their half for large periods and after one of their clearing kicks was caught by full back Aidan Fisher who set off beating four defenders putting Teignmouth on the attack from which Kyran Rendle scored. Aidan Fisher was having an excellent match in his new position as did James McGeary in the second row but Okehampton scored the games last try which was converted as was two of Teignmouth’s by Nick Langley-Pope.
