In true British fashion it appears that our summer has finally arrived and for the last few weekends the players have enjoyed fine weather on a Sunday morning. For the younger age groups training has been going well. However, the more the merrier and if anyone has a friend who fanices giving rugby a go please bring them down to meet us and perhaps join in. The older age groups have been playing games with encouraging results and we would suggest that the younger players stay on after training to watch these games as vocal support is more than welcome!

WELCOME TO THE NEW SEASON - It is a pleasure to welcome all new and existing players, parents and supporters to Teignmouth Rugby Club. The 'summer' months have flown past and some of the older age groups have already been in training for a few weeks as they are straight into the thick of it this weekend. For the younger age groups, following the RFU Structured Season, September has been allocated to training with the first games scheduled for October.
MEMBERSHIP - Player and Family membership is £45.00 with each additional player £20.00. We believe that this is great value for money and would appreciate you paying your membership as soon as possible.
RFU REGISTRATION - Following payment of a membership we are able to ascertain if a player is registered to the Club on the RFU database. Should a player not be we will provide the appropriate form and ask that it is returned to your coach with one passport sized photograph.
VOLUNTEERS - As with all Clubs, we constantly need people to assist in various ways. This can range from joining the Committee to help actively run the Section right down to just standing tolding a tackle bag on a Sunday morning! If you feel that you are able to help, no matter how little, please let your coach or a committee member know. Those that have been with us for a season know that helpers for kitchen duty are always required. Emma Oxley will, no doubt, be placing a rota on the notice board in the kitchen area for names to be added!

FINALLY - All that leaves to be said for the present is that we hope that everyone has an enjoyable season with the emphasis on learning and fun. Listen to the coach - remember they have volunteered their time for your benefit - and respect your team mates as well as the opposition!

Well here we are one more week and it will be the end of the season. We have all had a good time with some good results being achieved from all age groups but with the emphasis being on enjoyment.
To finish off the season we are hosting the annual Presentation Night for the U12's downwards at the Club on Sunday 11th May. As usual we will start with the AGM at 5:00 pm which will immediately be followed by the presentations and if the weather is amenable it is hoped to have the BBQ sparked up.
One of the aspects of the AGM is to form a new committee for next season. For the Section to continue to be successful and to move on we need more volunteers to come forward. If ou are interested please make yourself known.
Our Fixture Secretaries have been working hard and there is a full list of fixtures in place for next season. The Under 12's will be aware that they will be saying goodbye to their coach, Gareth Syndenham, and his assistant, Steve Dorey and we thank them both for the time that they have given the section. However, we will be pleased to introduce them to their new coach, Rick Pearce, in time for pre-season training. Rick has a long association with the Club and will be an asset to the Section's coaching team.
The new season will commence on 7th September with training sessions for the Under 12's downwards. We intend to have a 'signing on' session towards the end of September when memberships can be paid and parents can meet the committee and coaches but more information will be available in September.
In the meantime, we hope that you have a restful summer and look forward to welcoming you back in September.
