Suffolk Youth Rugby Information U14s 2007-8
Welcome to Suffolk Rugby.
SELECTION AND TRAINING
The first selection session for U14s boys put forward by their Club or School coach is on Monday 1 October at Bury St Edmunds club from 6.45 – 8.30pm. Please be there in good time to register. There will be a further selection session for those who get through the first round, on Monday 8 October at Ipswich RFC from 6.45 – 8.30pm. Boys will be notified by their club/school coach if they are required for the second session.
The first training session after selection to the U14 squad is on Monday 15 October at a time and venue to be notified.
Selection for training does not necessarily mean selection for a team, and selection for a team for the first match does not necessarily mean selection for the season.
REGISTRATION FEE
There is a charge for training with Suffolk to cover the costs of training venues, matches and equipment etc. This is £20 for the year for each player to be paid at the first training session. Please make cheques payable to Suffolk RFU.
TRAINING KIT
We like all selected boys to buy a Suffolk tracksuit and a polo shirt so that we present a smart, coordinated team when representing Suffolk. The costs are as follows:
Cotton lined half zip, microfibre top with Suffolk logo & initials & matching tracksuit trousers £40
Navy blue cotton polo shirt with Suffolk logo £10
In order to get these in time for the first match orders must be placed and paid for on MONDAY 15 OCTOBER which is the first training session after selection .
We would like everyone to have a tracksuit and polo shirt, but if the cost is a problem, please contact Ann Were, details below. Any contact will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Tracksuits will be available to try on the 15th ONLY. An order form is attached/can be downloaded from the website, and to save time it would be useful if you could complete this with the player’s name and phone number and make out a cheque (payable to SPORTS CLASS LTD) prior to the 15th. Cash is also acceptable, but we are not able to take credit card payments. If you are happy to order without trying on, then the completed order form and cheque can be sent to:

Polos are on the big side. Tracksuits are best bought slightly big – don’t forget most boys are going to grow considerably this year and it will be worn over other kit.
KIT CANNOT BE ORDERED WITHOUT PAYMENT
MATCH KIT
If selected to play in a match against another county, then you will be provided on the day with Suffolk shirt, shorts and socks, for which there is no charge. These must be returned to your coach immediately after the match. PLEASE DO NOT KEEP THIS KIT – we don’t have the funds to replace it.
After playing a match against another county for the first time you will be awarded a Suffolk tie, for which there is no charge. A charge will be made for a replacement for a lost tie.
TRAINING KIT AND TIES MUST HAVE NAME TAPES SEWN ON. EVERY SEASON A NUMBER OF ITEMS ARE LOST IN CLUB CHANGING ROOMS AND WE REGRET THAT SUFFOLK RUGBY CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOYS’ KIT AND ANY REPLACEMENTS HAVE TO BE PAID FOR. PLEASE USE A NAMED BAG AND ENSURE THAT ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING ARE PUT IN YOUR BAG BEFORE LEAVING THE CHANGING ROOMS FOR TRAINING OR MATCH. WE RECOMMEND THAT ALL CLOTHES ARE LABELLED AND THAT VALUABLES ARE NOT LEFT IN THE CHANGING ROOMS.
