Mini's Newsletters
Mini Newsletter February 2008
Welcome to the second and last Newsletter of the season. The momentum at the start of the season has continued with new faces appearing to join week in week out and adding to the teams. I receive compliments all the time as to how friendly and courteous we are as a section which is great to receive and proves that we are doing something right here at Sudbury.
Sponsorship
The continued need for sponsorship for new Shirts and Waterproofs for the future is ever present. If you work for an organisation that would be willing to sponsor a set of shirts or coats at a cost of £400, I will be more than willing to contact them. Equally if you own a business and are willing to help out, do please let me know.
Mini Development/ Structure
With Sally and I moving over to the “darkside” at the end of the season it is my intention to create a structure of volunteering to further bolster the club’s fantastic reputation amongst the Mini’s/Midi’s sections locally.
The following positions will I believe need filling with eager volunteers for next season and the positions that I propose are:
Mini’s Chairman
Fixture Secretary
Membership Secretary
Saints trips co-ordinator
In addition, I would be happy to suggest that each team continues with the team coordinator’s/manager role that has worked well to date.
Please let me know if you wish to take up any of these positions, the tasks are not too onerous and are necessary for continued success of the section.
Sudbury Festival
By far the biggest day of the year is fast approaching on the 20th of April and as such I am asking for all volunteers to come forward at add to this very enjoyable day even though demanding to organise.
Duties that we will need to cover are:
Parking duties
Scoring
Directing our visitors to their pitch
Running BBQ’s across two pitches
Tent and general setup helpers.
We have no further home matches now ahead of us and as such will require help to make this the success that it was last year. The task of matching and improving on last years events is particularly easier if there are lots of volunteers to help out. I will therefore need all coaches to call on the base of parents for help.
Last years festival was a tremendous success with some teams this year picking our festival over others on the same day as they loved our festival and the setup so much!
Important Dates
The following has been arranged and is open to all members and subject to a small charge for friends and siblings wishing also to attend:
Swim Party: Saturday 12th April
The pool has been booked for the section to use from 1900-2000 hrs
End of Season – Mini’s Disco:
Disco arranged for Saturday 26th April
Timings to be confirmed but likely to be 1900-2130hs.
Hollywood/ Oscar’s Night
Following on from the great time at the 80’s Disco, we propose to hold a Hollywood/Oscar’s night on the 15th of March for the parents of all age groups. Fancy dress is optional and tickets are on sale now at £7.50 per person available from Sally, with Food included. Please make a date of this in your diary’s as last years night was fantastic and all monies raised on the night are used for the section to continue and buy new equipment etc.

2nd Mar – Chelmsford away
