2005 06 Captains message
Hello and welcome to Stone RUFC
As we are about to embark into
the 2005/06 season, may I take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to
Stone RUFC, to all our existing players and members, and most importantly to all
new players and members.
The 2004/05 season was one of our
most successful on and off the pitch for a number of years. Under the captaincy of Matt Cooke we
ended the season an impressive 4th in the league and had the
satisfaction of playing some of our best rugby. My thanks to Matt for all his efforts
last season.
This season I have the challenge
of trying to equal Matt's achievements.
This year I hope we will be able to build on the success of last season
both on and off the pitch.
On the pitch we are looking to
strengthen the playing base of the club by recruiting some new players and also
improve our skills and fitness with the help of our new coach Andy. Andy has already made an
impression in our pre-season work. For more details about training please refer
to section marked training.
Off the pitch, Stone is a family
orientated club and looks to include wives, girlfriend and partners in all its
social events. Last years social
highlights were the Christmas party and End of Season BBQ / Awards night.
As well as welcoming existing and
new players, Stone also welcomes spectators to all their home games. To find where we are located please see
the enclosed map. There are ample
parking facilities and refreshments are on hand.
