Stafford U10's away to Tamworth, perfect weather conditions for rugby and a fantastic turn out. A big thank you to all the players and parents. Tamworth play a faster game of rugby that Stafford and use the full width of the pitch when passing, but they do rely on a few key players. this allowed them to win the first game with ease. Tamworth 3 Stafford 1
Game two Stafford took command from the off with good drives and much better use of the pitch and started to hit Tamworth harder with each play. Stafford still need to work on presenting the ball when they go into tackles, they make the play harder for themselves, but overall a good performance winning this game Tamworth 1 Stafford 3
Game three became more of a physical battle with both teams having equal possession of the ball this was a harder hitting game for Stafford, both teams used this match to sub in players so that all the kids got some playing time. There was some doubt regarding the final score of this match but the Tamworth ref declared it Tamworth 0 Stafford 0

Game One
There was some good rugby played today by both teams, Stafford do not have a good track record againt Stoke who play a very good tight game with good ball skills and great pace on the ball. Stafford went it to this match as the underdogs. the Sharks opened for Stafford and showed some potential but from the start were lacking ball skills, poor tackling and passing was our downfall, the ability of Stoke to strip the ball from Stafford and to protect the ball was very impressive. The Sharks in the scrum were the stronger team we just need to work on making clean good tackles and ball awareness when the ball is loose on the ground Stafford 0 Stoke 5
Game Two
The Stafford Tigers faced Stoke in the next game which was a different game all together Tigers showed exellent pace and much improved ball skills the Tigers were in command of this game from the start. We drove Stoke back deeper and deeper into their own territory. Tigers experimented with players trying new positons and from the impressive result it worked. Stafford 6 Stoke 0
Game Three
This game was a much shorter game to allow both teams to field players that had not had much game time on the day, it gives the coaches the opportunity to find the strenths and weaknesses within the squad and to give all the boys some match time. Unfortunate for Stafford we lost this game Stafford 0 Stoke 4
Overall there was some good rugby played today we need to improve and strenthen our command of the game, work on tackling drills and stripping the ball. But overall well done to Stafford U10's.

Great result for the lads today on their fist visit to Eccleshall, the lads played some great watchable rugby coming away with two wins 5-0 5-0. Eccleshall are a very keen team and having only played together this season all credit to them. Stafford are looking forward to next weeks festival at Broad Street in Coventry, the final team to be announced later in the week

BroadStreet Festival: A great day Staffords first visit to this festival only 15 of the squad were allowed to attend this event. The lads did Stafford proud and all played well. they played four games won 2 and drew 2 and lost none. this performance gave the lads 2nd place in the whole tournament, 1st place went to Lutterworth one of the teams we held to a draw. So a big well done to all the lads and a big thanks to all the support from the parents.

Next week Staffod U10's are at home to Tamworth.
Sunday 25th October 2009
The U10's are going from strength to strength with an outstanding performance today at home to Tamworth, the lads played well as a team, defended well and came away with two wins out of two games. They have all gelled together so far this season. We are looking forward to continued success next week when we are away to Newcastle.
Due to the bad weather conditions the U10's had an extra week off training. it was good the see them all back this week and ready to get back stuck in. We have a few weeks of training before matches.
