Burgess Hill U16's (24) Vs Seaford U15s (5)
When Seaford U15s played Burgess Hill U15's
earlier in the season they won convincingly 21-5. On this occasion they played
Hill's U16's and in a far more evenly contested fixture lost by 24 points to
5.
It was apparent that the hosts held the
advantage in size but the Seaford boys took
great credit from sticking to the game and not letting their heads
drop.
With Burgess Hill playing up the slope in the
first half Seaford took a while to get into the
game and were 17 nil down at half time but had shown some committed defence.
This commitment continued into the second half
as Burgess
hill must have felt that
with the slope advantage they would open up a cricket score in the second
period. It was now Seaford who were finding
their game and for 20 minutes battered the hill line but were unable to get the
points.
A great backs move saw Ollie Wiseman and Ross
Walker draw in the defence and release Adam Garner for a great try. The
conversion was missed leaving Seaford 17-5
down.
Seaford kept up the pressure but the extra size and
experience of the hosts began to show in the final minutes and they rounded off
the scoring with a well taken try.

Seaford U15's (17) V'sHastings U15's (24)
On Sunday morning Seaford U15's hosted an
experienced Hastings 15 and although they lost 24 -17 put
on a great display.
From the kick off
Hastings
showed their
class and soon opened up a 17 point lead with three tries through some excellent
play in their back division. Their experience was beginning to show and it
looked as though
Seaford could be buried under
a mass of tries but just before the break Lee Baker provided the hosts with a
try of their own with a powerful run to get the score to 5 -17.
After the turn around Seaford looked the fresher but an early error allowed the
visitors to increase their lead with a converted try. 5
-24.
From then on it was Seaford on all out attack,
with Baker adding another try and Shaun Fortes powering his way over for a
superb try. Ben Hall converted and with five minutes to go Seaford found them
selves having gone from a lost cause to just one score from equalising. They
battered the line but the Hasting's defence held firm to take the 17 - 24
victory.

On Sunday "Seaford Storm" (The Junior section
of the club) sent an Under 12 team to Worthing
for their tournament. In a very experienced field Seaford did well to reach the
shield final where they met and lost to Eastbourne.
In their first game
Seaford lost to a vastly more experienced Maidenhead side.
In the second match they went down 20-5 against Old
Eltamiians with Callum Johnson scoring the Seaford try following a rolling maul.
The third game
saw
Seaford at their best with Ben Joy running
the length of the pitch and evading numerous tackles to score a great try in a
disappointing loss to Haywards Heath.
Although they
did not manage to win a game the
Seaford boys
can be very proud of themselves as a very inexperienced team. They put on a
great performance and received plenty of compliments from opposing teams and
referees for their determination and good spirit throughout the day.
The final place
in the table put Seaford 6th out of 12 teams, all of who had a lot
more experience than
Seaford who will be a lot
more confident going into their next competition.

Seaford
Storm
Seaford U15's recorded a memorable victory on
Sunday, at home, to an experienced Heathfield side.
The powerful Seaford pack controlled the game and provided the backs
with quality ball throughout the game. Heathfield scored in the first half with
a breakaway try to gain 7 points but Seaford
scored at regular intervals to rack up 34 points. Lee Baker scored two tries,
Josh Sheppard, Kevin Mulpeter, Shaun Fortes and Shaun Brewer scored one each
with Ollie Wiseman kicking two conversions, the others proving too difficult as
the tries were scored in the corners.

The mini's were on the road and travelled to
Uckfield for a tournament involving Uckfield, Haywards Heath and a visiting
Belgium side. Unfortunately the very
wet and cold weather cancelled the tournament schedule. The Under 12's played
Uckfield and managed a 5 all draw with Ben scoring and the Under 10's were
unlucky to play an experienced Haywards Heath side and went down 10-5. Ollie
scored the Seaford try. The under 8's joined in
a training session.
Seaford are still looking for Junior members
especially in the under 10's, 12's and 14 age groups. If you are interested
please phone 077901 70097 or come to the Salts Recreation ground on Sunday
morning at 10am. The sessions are free so why not give it a
go.
