Local Salcombe Rugby Veteran Kevin Favis pictured above receiving his new club
shirts from Parrott & Parrott Accountants in his lost shorts.
Kevin explained that his shorts were his pride and joy and he had even embroidered
his Nickname “Kiddie” in Red letters on them to prevent them being lost or squeezed
into by Steve Parrott or his Brother Nigel.
It is unbelievable Kevin said, the last time I saw them was when I went for Shower
after the Plymouth Barbarian’s match on Saturday, someone must have taken them
from my bag, thankfully they did not take my hair gel.
Club President Paul Roberts stated he had heard rumours after the game that the
shorts were not stolen but requested a transfer so as not to have to play Fly-Half with
Kevin next week, although Mr Roberts was not 100% sure because he struggles to
keep up with most things today even rumours!!
Mark Lidstone a Salcombe player man and boy although now retired from away
games and 7’s was extremely angry at the antics and is refusing to provide new shorts
for the 2nd team until this whole issue is resolved.
Another Northern member of the Salcombe team who asked not to be named as he
believed Favis as Captain would take revenge on him by putting Lee Clarke at Inside
Centre next week claimed that he never saw these alleged new shorts and this was just
another trick by the frugal Favis to get the club to buy him new shorts after out
growing his size 36” waist shorts that he has had since School.
Frodo Thomas told the Gazette that he believed Favis dropped his shorts and after
witnessing his game on Saturday thinks that is quite likely, a team mate then picked
them up not knowing they were his and was now trying to sell them on Ebay to raise
money for St Luke’s Hospice in Plymouth, the money being added to the 2nd Annual
“Ride for Tina” fund.
Please check on Ebay for “Salcombe RFC Captain's Rugby Shorts” item number 260293764495 to see if any
shorts similar to those allegedly owned, lost or misplaced by Kevin are for sale. A
spokesman for SRFC said if they are his shorts it would be nice that even the losing
bidders donate the money to the Charity.
Mr Favis still visibly upset at the whole ordeal, said I haven’t lost a game in those
shorts this season and would appreciate them back for the game on Saturday!!!
