Another good day for the North Kesteven Girl's Teams
North Kesteven's Under 14 and Under 17 girl's travelled to Vipers RFC to play combined Leicestershire Barbarians sides in both age ranges and not for the first time this season found themslves having to loan players to the opposition to allow the games to go ahead.
The Under 14 game was played at the usual fast pace by NK who yet again showed that they have the ability play the ball out of contact rather than ruck and maul. This type of game is always difficult to defend against, particularly when the tackled player has close support. NK scored nine tries with Laura Ware and Carla Clubb scoring three each whilst Tanya Bird, Rachel Jones and Paula Smith all scored one try. The remainder of the NK points were scored by conversion kicks. The hosts managed one converted try to leave the final score as a 53 points to 7 victory to North Kesteven.
The U17 game was reduced to a seven a side affair played over three 7 minute periods. Again the pace and precision of the NK passing allied to close support work tore the hosts apart. Tries were scored by Naomi Carr, Emily Belshaw, Geraldine Baker, Lizzie Cannon ( 1) try each , whilst centre Mica Grossett revelling in the space afforded to her in the seven a side format scored three tries. Lizzie Cannon converted four ot the tries. In return Leicestershire Baa Baa's managed two unconverted tries resulting in an NK victory by a points margin of 43 points to 10.
