NORTH KESTEVEN GIRLS ENTER THE SKEGNESS BEACH TAG RUGBY FESTIVAL
Seventeen girls from North Kesteven Rugby Club entered the 3rd Annual Tag Rugby Festival at central beach Skegness on the 29th July.
Both the Under 14 and Under 17 squads were well represented at the event. In fact they were the only two teams to enter GIRLS ONLY SIDES out of the 20 or so teams taking part on the day.
Although the main aim of the day was to have as much fun as possible, both sides came away from the event with creditable performances and results
Both sides played 6 matches each. The Under 17's won 1 drew 2 and lost 3 of their games. The Under 14's won 1 drew 3 and lost just 2 matches from their 6 games played.
The combination of sand and the tag format of the game proved to be a great leveller and allowed the grils to play against adult sides without being overwhelmed.
The club decided to make " a weekend of it " and camped out overnight at Skegness Rugby Club on the Saturday evening returning home tired and slightly damp - thanks to an overnight storm on Sunday afternoon.

The photograph shows both teams shortly after their final series of games. The Under 17 side are at the rear in the black shirts with multi coloured hoops, with the younger Under 14 players in the club blue strip.
