North Kesteven v Market Deeping
North Kesteven welcomed fellow county team Market Deeping to North Hykeham for their latest match. The visitors arrived with only ten players. Sportingly NK offered two of their players to the opposition to allow the game to go ahead in the 12 a side format.
NK proved far too strong for the opposition and ran in tries on a regular basis throughout the first half.
The scorers were Hannah Lewin, Georgina Creaser , Zoe Wells and Stacey Hitchman with one try apiece whilst Mica Grosset and Emily Belshaw scored a brace. Conversions by Wells ( 2 ), Grossett ( 1 ) and Lizzie Cannon ( 1 ) gave the hosts a 48 - 0 lead going into half time.
Both coaches agreed that the match should cease and the second half took the form of a training game. NK lent Deeping the whole of their back line from fly half out and played with 12 players against the visitors 14.
The result was a much more evenly balanced gamein which NK outscored Deeping by three tries to one.
Next week see's a break from club action with a large number of U14 and U17 girls from NK attending the East Midlands Regional Trials at Kettering.
