England Under 16s team to face Italy Under 17s
England Under 16s face their first international test on Easter Saturday
(26th March) when they play Italy Under 17s at Old Albanians RFC in
Hertfordshire.
The team was selected following the squad's recent successful match against
Bath Under 17s and a development weekend which was held at Castlecroft last
weekend.
George Squires, team manager for the England Under 16s, is looking forward to
the match, "This is their first international match of the season and everyone
is looking forward to a good match. The team have performed well against
their recent opposition but realise that the Italians will represent a strong
challenge, particularly as they will be slightly older than the England
players."
"We have played the Italians for the last few years and have only lost once
in the last four years so will be looking to maintain our record against them."
