3rd Team Match Reports will appear here
Littleborough 3rd XV 23pts v Sedgley Park 4th 17pts
Courageous tackling and running, at times sounding like a herd of Buffalo, gave a large crowd full entertainment whilst keeping themselves warm with hot drinks , the crowd not the players.Back and forth , each team trying for supremacy till Boro put a great move together,Chris Park on to Ben Joiner who made good ground before passing on to winger David Ryan to run in the first try , converted by Park who shortly after slotted over a penalty. Into the second quarter of the match the Visitors starting to impose themselves and the supporters were taken aback when they ran in a perfectly good try out wide and collected the conversion.Immediately Boro hit back and nearly scored with good run by right wing Charlie Gedy but was brought down just short of the line , still Boro should have scored , having won back the ball they attacked on the left flank but too sluggish,. then Martin Hamer was adjudged to have handled the ball on the floor and was sent to the Sin-Bin for 10mins.Suddenly Joiner received the ball at pace, followed with a kick over the defence, collected the bounce but just failed to score, instead it was left to the same player short time later collecting a well timed pass from Park ,to go on a great angled run and this time adding a further try for Boro. The strength of the Visitors forwards was now starting to have a positive effect and they hit Boro almost on half-time with well won ball and strong running for their second try , 15pts to 12pts , game on !
At this juncture Boro rested Julian Bebbington and replaced him with Lee Turner who at once got into the game with strong tackling and his presence rejuvinated the whole team and back on the front foot the dynamic duo struck again,Park to Joiner who went off on another silky run to get his second try and stretch the margin of points.Yet again their visitors would not lie down and it was a contest between their forwards and Boro,s backs and at one time it looked like the forwards would succeed pressing very hard in Boro,s 5 / 10metres. Thankfully Simon Wystanoha put in some excellent clearance kicks relieving the pressure,Park hit the upright from a penalty but made no mistake not long after from another penalty which concluded the scoring and both teams shook hands on the final whistle having performed so well in difficult conditions.

Second half Boro brought on their subs, including Sam Dickinson,Paul Jones and Brook Reader, and commenced where they left ,off still handling he ball and on the attack , then change of tactics,Wystanowa with deft kick to corner, Boro backs in evidence again but held on when pass to wing was better option but soon after Wystanowa in for deserved try in corner,no conversion. Now Boro in total command,Ben Park coming on for last quarter,Dickinson with good attacking run, then threequarters on another great attack, this time sending winger Dearden in for excellent team try,not converted.Followed shortly by Martin slipping past visitors defence to cross the line but adjudged not to have grounded correctly then made up for it by feeding Anthony Stevenson with quality pass to score and much to players relief the final whistle blew but not before Brook Reader also crossed the line after a good run by Ben Park.
