I found the Academy course very useful in several ways. It did give me more confidence to see that my work in the club was viewed by others as important. The personal assessments were very interesting and revealing and helped me decide on future action with my Personal Development Plan. The mentor’s input helped me to see that my roles were overwhelming and needed to be cut back. It has helped me to focus more on what the club needs from Volunteers and we are trying to find more people to do jobs but with some difficulty. The management type/style of working with others helped to me to look forward and how I can improve my organisational skills and people skills. The presentations from each tutor were excellent and very informative. The whole course was very helpful for me and I hope that I can put the theory in to practice in future. I would recommend the course to others who want to see how the future of their clubs can be moved on through their personal development.
