The fifth annual gathering of Lancashire's Mini & Junior Fixture Secretaries will take place at Bolton RUFC on Monday 4th January, 6.30pm prompt.
With the RFU's Youth Structured Season now available, adapted for use in Lancashire, the theme of the evening will be to ensure that an appropriate number of quality training dates is included in clubs' diaries.
Given its improving popularity, Lancashire clubs' Mini Rugby competition: the Barclays Mini Festival Cup, will be played over three rounds in 2009/10.
The qualifying triangular fixtures in 2009/10 will be as follows:
Round 1 - to be played on or by 1st November
Round 2 - to be played on or by 17th January
Round 3 - to be played on or by 28th February
Finals Day (for the top 8 teams) - Sunday 11th April
2010 Finals Days
Venues are sought for three finals day in April 2010,

Following the principle established last season, the Barclays Commercial sponsored Lancashire Under 11s & 12s Mini Festival triangular matches will be played on designated days: Round One on 1st November, Round Two on 17th January and Round Three on 28th February, with the County Festival completing the competition on Sunday, 11th April.
The Barclays Mini Finals Day will be at at a venue TBC, on Sunday 11th April 2010
The Junior Competitions Committee has also been asked to consider introducing an Under 10s and Under 9s equivalent. This is planned for 2010/11.

Mini and Junior Festivals notified for 2009/10
|
Festival Approval:
 As has been the case for many years, under the RFU Regulations, all Festivals organised by Clubs must be approved by their Constituent Body.
In Lancashire's case, application is made to the 7-16 Committee who consider the event on behalf of the RDP (Rugby Development Partnership).
Approval has been given to the following Mini & Junior Festivals for the season 2009/10.

Please note the emphasis on training laid out in the Structured Season. The operation of the Pool will be restricted on designated 'Club Training' days, once the season gets underway.
