The draw for the Lancashire Womens Cup was made by Peter Ashcroft (President, Preston Grasshoppers), during the November Lancashire Women & Girls Rugby Committee meeting.
The proceedings were “witnessed by the independent adjudicator, Mark Harper (RFUW Club & Coach officer). The machine used for the night’s draw was…..”
The draw has thrown up the exciting prospect of three of the four top-ranked womens rugby sides in the County being eliminated before the final, which makes for an extremely open but no doubt entertaining competition.
This inaugural competition throws up new prospects for the Womens’ game in Lancashire and, with new teams entering the draw in future years, it also increases the profile for potential sponsors to invest in a Championship winning county, and in an important competition in the Lancashire diary.
