Lancashire Ladies - Norrthern Champions again!
Northern Counties Trophy 2006/2007
Lancashire met Yorkshire at Leeds Chandos on Friday evening for what turned out to be a nail biting finale for the Northern Counties trophy. Over the past few months, Cheshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire and newcomers Northumberland have been competing for the trophy showing some exciting and talented rugby.
Already holders of the Northern Counties Trophy, the county has retained the trophy in the competition's second season, and the Lancashire Ladies remain unbeaten since gathering together as a squad three years ago.
The two strongest sides came head to head with a draw from previous games meaning the final was going to be a real test of skill, stamina and a lot of luck! Both sides fielded strong opposition and the score could have ended either way, however when the final whistle was blown, Lancashire emerged the Victors for the third season in a row with a 14-19 score line.

| In the not to be played Northumbria v Cheshire Game a 5 - 10 score was awarded in favour of the non defaulting team Cheshire |
The tournament has been a great showcase for rugby talent in the North of England with the majority of clubs sending representatives. Support from County RFU has been stronger than ever and hopefully more northern county sides will come on board to make this competition even bigger.
