Qualifying Pools 2007/08
FIXTURES ANNOUNCED.......
The original proposal to amend the competition to a seeding system, using the previous season's results, from an open draw at Under 16s, 15s and 14s was based on 24 clubs entering. The published schedule shows how teams 'exit' the qualifying stages and into the knock out stage.
In what will be a record season of the competition, with more matches played than ever before, for the first time, 28 clubs have entered an age group, giving teams in each of the four pools a 6 match qualifying programme. Play Off Sunday (17th February) will therefore assume considerable significance as only 24 sides will progress to the three knock out competitions on 'Super Sunday'. An allied 'Bowl' competition will take the remaining Under 13s and Under 14s sides into March.
The following clubs, who have entered teams in earlier seasons, have not entered sides this season: Aspull, Burnley, Clitheroe, Colne & Nelson, Eagle, Oldham and Pendle.
