Rugby Gentlemen of a Certain Age 
As part of a venerable club, Preston Grasshoppers (Established 1869) sporned
'The Strollers'.
The Strollers are venerable players, and play with the number '69' on their
backs purely to honour the club's founding - and to take advantage of the
credulous.
The team was founded in 1978 as a refuge for 'Rugby Gentlemen of a Certain
Age' to play out their last few declining years.
Today, most of them are still declining, but still there!
Along the way, The Strollers diversified, permanently making their mark on
the annuls of Hoppers' history with the classic vocal work, 'A Stroller's Song
Book' of which some private recordings still remain.
The captains alomg the way included Bob Satchwell, Chris Ashman, Ennis
O'Donnell, Jim Melrose and Brent Horton to name just a few.
