Preston Grasshoppers grabbed a share of the
glory with victory on the final day of the Boddington's Village Cricket League
season.
Leaders Grimsargh's final game at
Whittingham & Goos-nargh fell foul to the weather and Hoppers snatched a
victory at home to Barton Grange leaving them tied on points at the top on 30
points.
Barton Grange put on 72-8 in their 15 overs with C
Stewart top-scoring with 20 , and eight of the Hoppers wickets coming from
run-outs. After losing two early
wickets, a stand between John Chesworth (14) and Dominic Sainsbury (25) guided
Hoppers to victory.
Ribchester's three-wicket victo-ry at home to Fulwood
& Broughton was only other game to survive the weather. The other matches in the final round of
matches fell foul to the weather.
