Hendon Sevens 2009
55th HENDON SEVENS WAS HELD ON SUNDAY 26TH APRIL 2009
The Hendon Sevens is one of the longest running Sevens competitions in the country. It is open only to bona fide RFU affiliated clubs and this year it was held on 26th April with 16 clubs competing for the Teddy Knox Trophy, the Plate and the Seamus Lavelle Bowl.
Despite the gloomy weather forecast the day was sunny and bright and a good crowd of spectators enjoyed continuous rugby sevens from 1300 to 1800. With a well stocked bar, a BBQ and a hog roast there was plenty to eat and drink and there really was a festival atmosphere.
London Nigerian RFC won the Teddy Knox Trophy, defeating Twickenham in a hard fought Final.

Old Streetonians won the Plate competion defeating Sudbury Court Jesters.

Haringey won the Seamus Lavelle Bowl by defeating home club Hendon.

Our thanks go to all the referees who supported our competition and to the Clubs who entered (and turned up on the day).
