Hendon Sevens 2008
54TH HENDON SEVENS COMPETITION
Sunday 27th April 2008 saw the 54th annual Hendon Sevens competition featuring 16 local clubs competing for three trophies. The rain just before the start of the competition did not dampen enthusiasm and from about 2.00 o'clock the sun shone on some sparkling sevens rugby. The Teddy Knox Trophy for the main comeptition was won by Old Ashmoleans who beat Haringay Rhinos comfortably. Despite nursing hangovers from the Cup celebrations the day before Hendon 2s made it through to the Final of the Plate competition, knocking out Hammersmith & Fulham in the semi-final. Unfortunately, by then the weekend's efforts had taken their toll and we were beaten by Chiswick three tries to none. The Seamus Lovell Bowl was won by Cardinals who beat Northolt.
