John Graham
John has been in touch and writes:
John Graham here - Not sure you remember me but we played Rugby together back in the 70's and early 80's at Hendon RFC in London, - I was surfing the web the other day and looking through the Hendon RFC website and found your e-mail address so thought I would give it a try to see if i could touch base with you and catch up on all the happenings down under - with the likes of yourself, Mike thornbury ,Martin Benstead, and Kiwi Rankin etc, etc.
Myself I moved to Canada in the Mid 80's and have been here ever since, the only person I have kept in Contact with (although sporadic) was Alan Kahl, - looking at the photos on the web brought back old memories - some people never change like Geoff Riorden and John Brown who was as I remember him - his mouth wide open.
I was in Sydney for a couple of years when Mike Thornbury, Dave Deville were there but never kept in touch.
So get back to me and lets me know how things are, my e-mail address is johnv.graham@shaw.ca
Regards to you and anyone that might remember me.
Dick Daly
Dick played for the Club in the Seventies and early Eighties, captaining the Second XV for many seasons. He also ran the bar and served on the Committee. He then moved to the South West and one year hosted a tour from Hendon at his hotel in Weymouth.
He came back to London a couple of Summers ago and volunteered to become involved again. With a sense of deja vu he took on the role of Clubhouse and Bar Secretary. Given the plans we had for clubhouse improvement and for developing the bar and catering at the Club this was a most important role and he did a great job. He has now decided to pass on the baton and Terry Gilbride has taken over the bar with Club Chairman Malcolm Watts resuming responsibility for the Clubhouse.
David Williams
David played for the Club alongside his older brother Colin in the Seventies. He now lives in the Manchester area and has three grown-up daughters. How time flies!
David was the Tour photographer on the 1977 Caribbean Tour and has sent us over 20 photos of the tour. Some are on the website but the others are available on a CD, together with a DVD of some silent black & white 8mm footage of the tour, from Tom Brownsell, Club Secretary.
Grant Furlonger
