MIDDLESEX CLUB SEVENS COMPETITION
On Saturday 3rd May the Sevens squad, coached by John Casalaspro and captained by J P Cremin moved on to the Richmond Athletic Ground to compete in the Middlesex Club Sevens Vase competition. After the performance at the Hendon Sevens we were hoping to celebrate another trophy on of rugby in our 75th season. It was not to be however, and the long season finally caught up with the squad. HAC were the eventual winners of this competition.
THE 2007-8 LEAGUE SEASON
The First XV had a mixed season in the League where we finished 6th, the last League match was a home game against Old Grammarians, who had beaten us comfortably earlier in the season. This time it was a draw 26 points each and really we should have 'put them away'. Anyway we now look forward to playing some Sevens and preparing for next season, when we remain in Herts/Middlesex League 2.
The Second XV had a successful season in the Herts/Middlesex Merit Table and look forward to ending the season in style in the Merit Table cup competition. Here we can see the pack in action against Hampstead and Danny Hayes the Captain welcoming our newest recruit from Hungary; who joins our players who come from as far afield as Poland and Papua New Guinea as well as Ireland, Oz, NZ South Africa and Colindale.
  Waiting for a crucial penalty!!!
JO JENKINS
The funeral of Jo Jenkins, wife of Colin, who passed away peacefully in the early hours of 22nd May was attended by many past and present members of Hendon. Colin and Jo had been stalwarts of the Club since Colin first played in the late 1950s. Jo had a long fight against illness and Colin and his family wish to thank all those friends who came to celebrate her life and who have written to them. If you wish to make a donations direct to Cancer Research Charities in remembrance of Jo the family would be very pleased.
TWO HENDON STALWARTS FROM THE PAST MEET ON A MOUNTAIN IN SPAIN
What are the chances of meeting a team mate from more than 20 years ago 2000 feet up a mountain in Spain. This is exactly what happened to Don Wall & Ted 'Curly' Gerald at the beginning of May. Both are out there enjoying four weeks of sunshine and were extremely surprised to meet after many many years.

VICE PRESIDENTS LUNCH
Earlier in the season we held a very successful reunion buffet lunch for our Vice Presidents, friends and opposition, our local rivals Mill Hill. We were pleased not only by the result but also by the presence of founder member Geoff Cooper now well into his nineties and a number of past players and their wives. No prizes for recognising these Hendon stalwarts.

A DAY OUT AT TWICKENHAM
On a day to forget for England fans some more of the Hendon stalwarts met at Twickenham for the Wales game - yes that one!! Warwick Evans now living near Swansea was brave to wear his Ospreys shirt but he and his dad, Dave had the last laugh with Wales overturning England in the second half. The venue as usual was the Victoria pub in Worple Road, Twickenham and apart from Roland Wallace who lives in Ealing they came from far and wide - Dave Llewellyn from Weymouth, Brian Martin from Diss, Dave Evans from Hay on Wye and Colin Jenkins from Stanmore.
