| The BL Office Centre Essex Merit Table Competition is aimed at the second and lower XV's of all Essex clubs. |

| All fixtures are made for you by the chairman and secretary and circulated to all the fixture secretaries at the end of May. |
|
| We currently run the merit table on a leagues basis and is open to all the County's clubs. |
|
|
|
|
| Each side plays each other side both home and away. One side will be promoted and relegated each season. |
|
|
| There is no registration but cheating is not condoned - other clubs will soon find out and the club will eventually |
|
|
| find that no one wants to play them - and no fines for failing to phone in results. More important, games can be played with |
| less than 15 players, and clubs are encouraged to lend players to their opposition in order to play a game. |
|
|
| An extra point for an away win or draw also encourages sides to travel. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| This league can provide a platform for the first (and often only) team of a very small club to play the fourth or fifth team of a |
| bigger club in a proper competitive atmosphere. It can also be the only time players from a club's lower sides can partake in |
| competitive rugby. |
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Make no mistake - less formal it may be - but that does not mean it is less competitive! |
|
|
|
|
| The winning club is responsible for contacting the secretary of the result. Failure to do so by noon on Monday will result in |
| no scores accredited to that match. |

|
| Don't worry if it sounds complicated - you send in the result - we do the rest! |
|
|
|
|
|
| If a side cancels a fixture the opposing side will be awarded a 15-0 win. The offending side will be deducted 1 point. The fixture |
| will be reversed i.e. if a side will not travel away the fixture will be deemed as a home game and the return fixture will be away. |
