| LEISURE RUGBY
Leisure Rugby is about finding new and innovative ways for people to enjoy the game of Rugby. Eastern Counties is at the forefront of creating fun formats for both new and former players to be involved in the game.
The Southwold Beach 7s event is one of the oldest Beach Rugby tournaments in the country and for the past five years has also been the biggest. Teams come form all over the country to take part.
When the RFU launched its Beach Tag series in 2005 Eastern Counties added two more venues at Clacton and Hunstanton and now run three tournaments every summer with over 1000 people taking part.
JEWSON FLOODLIT 40s
Warkickshire came up with the idea of 20 minute each way midweek games, but Eastern Counties took the format and created the Suffolk Vets Floodlit 40s. New Vets teams were created and players came out of retirement to play fun, social rugby. The success of the competition was recognised by the RFU who awarded Eastern Counties a Presidents XV Award.
