Devon 15 Dorset&Wilts 7
On a cold squally day on Collumpton RFC, the under 18 ladies side playing Devon lost a close, hard fought match 15-7.
Devon, having already had an outing were better organised at the start, and more aggressive in the lose. Despite some heroic defence, especially on the wings, the pressure finally told, and Devon went over in the corner. From the re-start some outstanding work nearly resulted in a score, but Devon managed to clear their lines and exert more pressure, with one of their heavier forwards finally crashing over for a second score.
Having turned around 10-0 down at half time, Dorset & Wilts played some of their best rugby going forward, and finally allowing Charlotte Warde to be driven over near the posts. A conversion which just crept over the cross bar by Emma Lock brought the score to 10-7, and an impressive win looked possible.
However the size of the opposition and the number of injuries finally allowed the opposition to pressure in the twenty-two, and despite more stout defence, a score was conceded late in the second half, effectively sealing the game for Devon.

Well done to the squad of girls that played against Devon last Sunday.
It was a close game that could have gone our way at any time however, they were slightly more organised having played as a team already.
The tackling from all the Dorset & Wilts girls was impressive and very courageous. I was proud of how you all played.
A big well done to our tenacious scrum half Vicky, who had a great game!
Unfortunately I will be away for the next and last game at Bridport.
Doc, Mike and Nicky will be there to get you ready for it though.
So Good luck for the rest of the season girls, thanks for your efforts.

The next training session is on the 8th of November at Dorchester RFC . 12.45 meet for a 1pm start.
Finish time will be 1600.
The squad for the DEVON game will be selected at this session.

Due to the rearrangement of the Regional trials to the 31st, the County game has been postponed, to possibly some time in March.
