THREE PLAYERS SELECTED INTO ENGLAND U18 SOUTH WEST DIVIONAL SQUAD
The U18 South West Divisional trials were, once again, held on a wet and windy day in Bristol that often made handling difficult for players to show their skills effectively. However, by the end of the day the squad was announced and it was good news for three of the invited D&W players ....but not such good news for the other six.
I hope you will join me in congratulating the three players selected into the initial England U18 South West Divisional squad who were:

It was particulary sad for this seasons D&W U18 captain - Will Beach - as he sustained a serious leg injury whilst playing for his school just one week before the trial and, unfortunately, was not able to take part. I therefore hope all will join me in when sending commiserations to Will having got that far only to be so disappointed on the day and not being able to take part.
Fingers crossed that all selected players will take the last final hurdle in their stride and get selected into the England U18 squad based on their performances at the England Divisional Trials being held at Broadstreet RFC in Coventry over the weekend of 2-4 January 2009.
Thanks for the help of all involved in making this another succesfull season. In particular, thanks should go to all players and their parents / guardians as without their support this success would not have happened.
Have a great Christmas and a Happy and Succesful New Year
Regards
Glyn Parker
