Training due to take place on Friday 28th November at North Dorset has been cancelled due to a lack of training pitches.
Congratulations to 4 of our squad who have been selected to attend a South West development training day, this coming Sunday.
Squad details for Sundays game v Oxon at Stowe school will be posted in the next 48 hours. Please advise if you are not available for selection.

There is a training session for all players of D&W under 16’s on Sunday 16th November at North Dorset RFC, 12 to 3pm.
Please arrive ready to train as there will be no access before training to the changing rooms.
The squad for the next game is below; please arrive at Bournemouth RFC in your county tracksuits at 5.45pm
for a 7.30pm kick off. There will be a meal after the match – white shirt, tie, etc please.
If anyone is unable to train or play please advise me as soon as possible, by email if possible.

Details below for the match on Sunday at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berks:
Don’t forget appropriate gear for weather, drinks and snacks, black shorts, (socks will be provided) white shirt etc for after match. (If you are unable to stay to meal please advise me).
Location: Wellington College, Dukes Ride, CROWTHORNE, Berks, RG45 7PU. (Please ensure you use the Dukes Ride entrance as the gates will be closed at the other entrance. It is shown on the map below as the "only entrance").

Car parking: Along "The km" or school main court towards Porters lodge. (No parking at the sports centre please).
Dogs: Please do not allow dogs on the playing fields. There are plenty of wooded walks for the dogs.
11:00 Bucks & D&W arrive (Changing: Pink Pavilion)
12:30 Bucks v D&W (Bigside 1) (reserve pitch if conditions poor)
14:15 Bucks/D&W to New Social Centre for warm meal and presentation (boys and coaches)
The Cherry Tree cafeteria/bar in the Sports Centre will be open to parents.
Kickphoto will be in attendance all day.

THE DORSET AND WILTSHIRE UNDER 16 REPRESENTATIVE SQUAD
Once again the D&WU16 coaching and management team would like to thank everyone who played in the two trial games against Cornwall at Bryanston School on Sunday. It was a particularly difficult task for the selectors to make a final choice as the general standard was very high, however after much deliberation the 28 players listed below have been selected to form the Dorset and Wiltshire Under 16 Representative Squad.

TRAINING NEXT WEEK
The entire squad is expected to be at Canford School for training at 2pm on Sunday 5th October 2008 - the training is expected to finish at approximately 5pm (please note, this is different to the times previously listed). Food will NOT be provided so it is recommended that the players bring along sufficient HEALTHY snacks and drinks to keep themselves going through the afternoon.
DORSET AND WILTS SQUAD KIT
Dorset and Wilts are supplying squad kit comprising track suit tops and bottoms and a training T-shirt. Squad members will be expected to contribute £20 towards the cost of the kit, which they will get to keep when the county season ends. The kit will be available at training next week so anyone who wishes to go home wearing D&W badged clothing should bring with them a cheque for £20 made payable to 'Dorset & Wilts RFU'.

SELECTED SQUAD FROM THE TRIAL DAY HELD AT CANFORD SCHOOL 21st September 2008
First of all the D&WU16 coaching and management team would like to thank everyone who attended the trials held at Canford School on Sunday. From our point of view the day ran smoothly and we hope it felt the same for all the players who took part, as well as for the parents who chose to stay and watch. As with all trials it has resulted in a large number of the participants taking no further part in the selection process. For those who are not listed below we would like to thank you for you commitment and hope you will continue to play and enjoy your rugby. Should any of you feel you would like feedback on your performance, please get in touch with me, then myself or one of the coaching team will get back to you.
Following the trials, the players listed below have been selected for the two development matches against the development squad of Cornwall. The matches will be played at Bryanston School on Sunday 28th September 2008.

D&W U16 Squad Selection Day - Sunday 21st September 2008
The Under 16 selection day is to be held at Canford School on Sunday 21st September 2008. All nominated players are asked to arrive at 10am for registration. Directions to Canford School are provided on the school's website and can be accessed by clicking on the following link:

Please note, registration will be carried out in a building near the golf course. It is therefore suggested that all arrivals enter the school via the entrance on the Canford Magna road and not through the school's main entrance. Car parking is available behind the synthetic pitches and alongside the registration building.

The trial day in summary:
Date: Sunday 21st September 2008
Venue: Canford School, Wimborne, Dorset BH21 3AD
Registration: From 10am for a 10:30am prompt start
Finish: 4pm (at the latest)
Kit: Playing kit will NOT be provided so please bring your own with plenty of spare kit in case of inclement weather. This should include waterproof clothing - and don't forget mouth guards!
Lunch/Drink: Unfortunately lunch and drinks will NOT be provided for players so please bring enough food and drink to last the day. (It should also be noted that no food or drink will be available on site for any parent/guardian who intends to stay and watch the trials.)
Selection Process:
Full details of the day's activity and selection process will be explained to all players and parents/guardians following registration but essentially the aim is to identify a squad of 30-35 players before the end of the day. The names of selected players will be announced before departure and the players that have not been selected will have the opportunity to receive feedback from the coaching team if requested.
The selected players will then be added to by a further ten players, previously identified from last year’s Under 15s, to form the squad for the next stage of the selection process. This stage will be two trial matches against Cornwall U16's to be held at Bryanston School on Sunday 28th September 2008 - full details for this will be posted shortly.
The final Dorset and Wiltshire Under 16 representative squad consisting of between 25-30 players will be announced after the games against Cornwall.
For those who don't make the final squad initially, please don't feel that your opportunity has gone. At any stage during the forthcoming season players may still be called upon to join the squad in the event of injury or unavailability of players - be prepared and ready to grab the opportunity should it arise.
Finally I would just like to say that I am looking forward to meeting you all at Canford School on the 21st where I will be wishing you all the best of luck in your endeavours to become County players.
