MATCH REPORT - D&W 46 - CORNWALL 0
There was a sense of excitement from both players and supporters as the lads took to the park in perfect rugby weather. If you were late getting to the touchline then you would have missed the first of D&W's 7 trys scored by Jamieson in 82 seconds......
The fierce D&W forward pack dominated the scrums and some consistently good forward play rewarded the greens with a penalty after 13 minutes which was ably taken by Devoto.
This seemed to settle any nerves D&W may have had and from here-on they dominated the match with the forwards creating space for the backs to run in a further 3 tries in quick succession - Novik 18 mins, Fitch 26 mins and Novik again on 28 minutes. Devoto kicked 2 of the 3 conversions over and it was 27-0 at half time.
The second half was much as the first with the players remaining fully focused to the final whistle. Tries in the second half came from Buckle 47 mins, Lotter 49 mins and Warner on 70 minutes. Devoto kicked 2 of the conversions to end the match 46-0.
For those of you who missed the opportunity to see these talented young men play yesterday then make a date in your diary to come along and support them at Chippenham RFC on 24th October 2010 when they play Devon u18 RFC.
