National Cup Regulations (2006 -2007)
Please note that the following regulations can be found in this years RFU Handbook between pages 202 and 244.
Match officials MUST read these carefully before officiating games in this competition.
Main points summary
- Replacements National Trophy - 7 from 7
- Replacements Intermediate Cup/Senior Vase/Junior Vase – Up to semi-final 4 from 4, semi-final/final – 7 from 7.
- 5 players in each match quad (18 or over) capable of playing in the front row.
- Should be able to replace front row on first two occasions
- NB IMPORTANT CHANGE FROM 13/11/06 Page 205 – Regulation 7, clause 7.3.1. (c), last picadot, now to read “Cup Competitions (including finals) – on any occasion the match will continue with uncontested scrums and the result will stand subject to Game Regulations 7.3.1 (d)

The change is a removal of the instruction to the offending team not being allowed to replace a front row player in the event of requesting uncontested scrums on the 1st or 2nd occasions.
To do this the IRB would need to grant the RFU an Experimental Law Variation which we do not have.
