Vice Presidents
As with most rugby clubs, once you get too old to play if you are lucky you are invited to become a VP, which means putting your hand in your pocket to help fund the club, supporting the playing members on match days, perhaps assisting with the administration of the club & generally "putting something back in!"
At Cranleigh RFC we are extremely fortunate to have a fine body of extremely loyal & generous VPs, lead by the ernstwhile Ray Pick & his partner in crime Robin Williams. Ray has recently taken over from Robin in acting as our VPs Secretary, and with Robin & many other volunteers kind assistance will once again be organising our famous, or should we rather say infamous, VPs Lunches before every home league game.
They will be cooking these in the spanking new oven, largely funded by the VPs & recently installed by Ray & his merry bunch of men, with some vital assistane in replaying the kitchen floor by local expert Jez Shayler.
Both Ray now represent the interests of this most important section of the Club on the main Committee.
VP Lunches
Ray now organises one of these before each home league match; the dates for 2011/12 are as follows:
- Saturday 24th September 2011-London S.A.
- Saturday 8th October 2011 - Old Walcountians
- Saturday 29th October 2011 - CL London
- Saturday 19th November 2011 - Croydon
- Saturday 10th December 2011 - Old Tiffinians
- Saturday 14th January 20012 - Old Whitgiftians
- Saturday 4th February 2012 - Old Amplefordians
- Saturday 3rd March 2012 - London Exiles
- Saturday 24th March 2012 - Kingston
- Saturday 14th April 2012 - Old Paulines
Why not join us for lunch before one or more of the above games?
Delicous home cooked food, prepared by our talented volunteer chefs, all washed down with a nice bottle of house wine, a beer or two, or perhaps both!
Sounds good? Then please call Ray on 01483 272443 to reserve your place or better still audition for a highly sought after spot on our "Chefs' Rota"
VPs & Volunteers
As with many valued volunteers Ray's work goes largely unnoticed by the majority who benefit from it without even realising it. Likewise the vital funding & support provided by VPs is often unappreciated, but such is the lot of a rugby club volunteer. New mugs are always most welcome!
Again please ask Ray as to how you can help your Club.
