The Referees Toolbox
The Referees Reference Page
1. So how do you find out anything about the two teams you will officiating this weekend? Well this link requires you to at least know which National league or region the clubs are competing in:
http://www.cantrugby.co.uk/clubs.htm
In addition, it also contains links to Governing Bodies, Referee associations and League tables
How far away is the club? Use this site to type in your postcode and that of the club (if you have not already noted it from the above website then use this site to get the home clubs postcode by following the link on the RFU Handbook and then to the club's page - /Clubs/?cfUrl=http://www.rfu.com/microsites/handbooks/index.cfm?fuseaction=handbook.home&id=316074&token=52652484&app=CommunityRugby

2. What if I have a question about the actual Laws of Rugby before this weekend's game? Well the final authority is of course the IRB and details are at:
http://www.irb.com/
An easy site to navigate and lists all the laws of course, regulations and discussion.
3. What about a question concerning the regulations under which this weekend's fixture will be governed by? Is it a Cup game at National or County level? In this case, you need the main site at http://www.rfu.com, which is then further subdivided as follows:
/Clubs/?cfUrl=http://www.rfu.com/microsites/handbooks/index.cfm?fuseaction=handbook.CBs&id=315980&token=51998054&app=CommunityRugby
For the National competitions or follow the links to which Constituent Body the competition is governed by and follow their links.
4. What if you have TJ appointed. Well the contact details if they are from Cornwall Rugby Referees Society are contained at:
/Clubs/?cfUrl=http://www.rfu.com/clubs/index.cfm/fuseaction/hm.default/grou_select/2116.htm
This lists not only latest appointments, news, Executive Committee details and Discipline assistance, but also has tabs for membership details and forthcoming events. This type of info is replicated for the other two Societies within the South West Peninsular federation at:
/Clubs/?cfUrl=http://www.rfu.com/clubs/index.cfm/fuseaction/hm.default/grou_select/2081.htm
If they are from further a field then please refer back to:
http://www.cantrugby.co.uk/clubs.htm
5. Of course our role may not entirely end with the final whistle and you may have experienced the necessity to flourish a yellow, red or even worse, been abused. So how do you go about completing these and to whom do you need to send them. Well within both CRRS and SWP there is a dedicated page with the latest discussion (Hon Jeff Blackett RFU Discipline Chairman) and all the appropriate forms that you may need. This is also available in even greater depth at the rfu site as follows:
/Clubs/?cfUrl=http://www.rfu.com/clubs/index.cfm/fuseaction/hm.home/grou_select/2116/page_id/7664.htm
/Clubs/?cfUrl=http://www.rfu.com/clubs/index.cfm/fuseaction/hm.home/grou_select/2081/page_id/7787.htm
http://www.community-rugby.com/communityrugby/index.cfm?Fuseaction=Home.Downloads&StoryTypeId=101&SectionId=634&StoryId=11536
6. Finally there are ample resources available online to pretty much answer all your possible questions. If it cannot be answered then do use the various forums to post your question. These are the more likely links that you may need:
