Whitehaven vs. Cockermouth RUFC
25th October2008
This was the last of a tough run of games for Cockermouth, travelling with only 15 players made the latter stages of the game very difficult as they eventually ran out of steam. Playing well in the first half, Jonny Taylor scored a well-taken try after some good work from the forwards. Whitehaven led at half time by 12 points to 5.
In the second half Whitehaven were able to stamp their authority on the game and although Cockermouth never gave up, they were unable to contain an extremely lively Whitehaven side.
Once again, several of the young players who have come into the team this season did well. In particular, Jason Ward on his return from injury in the scrum half berth, Mark Holmes and Brett Malloy on the wings and Cockermouth's man of the match Ceiron Williams at number 8 were all impressive.
