The 2013 Clacton May Day Sevens competition took place at Clacton Rugby Club on Sunday 5th May 2013.
Only five teams turned-up on the day - Clacton, Kestrels, Writtle, Mistley, and Scott's 7. However, in glorious sunshine, a 'round-robin' league was played, giving every team four matches. By the end of the competition, almost everyone agreed that four was enough! The competition was won by Writtle, who were unbeaten, with Clacton occupying the runners-up spot.
After the competition was completed, the teams returned to the clubhouse, and Dave Jaffray presented the runners-up Plate to Clacton, before he presented the Ernest Greaves Tweedy Trophy, plus the winners medals, to Writtle.
The club are also grateful to Matt Mahoney and Jacob Lee, who undertook the refereeing duties on the day, and did an excellent job.
