Camborne 23
Coney Hill 11
Camborne’s forward pack laid the foundations for a deserved victory to move back into a share of 2nd place in the South West Two table.
There was to be no double for the highflying Gloucester visitors as the home eight gave an inspired first half showing facing the elements.
Back in the Cherry & White jersey Tongan speedster Aisea Fisilau showed glimpses of his strong running that should prove an asset for the remainder of the season.

‘Town’ gave a debut to Nathan March on the blindside and he responded with a good allround display and some impressive ball carrying.
In heavy conditions the visitors began with the wind at their backs taking an early lead with a simple penalty from fly half Brian Barnett.
The Cherry & Whites responded with No 8 Ali Durant often making inroads and flanker Kevin Penrose always in the thick of the action at his elbow.
On 15 minutes home left wing James Richards beat several tacklers running back a wayward clearing kick. Centre Adrian Downing and right wing Kelvin Smitham carried the attack deeper into Coney Hill territory and from the ensuing ruck lock Tristan Wetherelt stormed over for the opening try. Fly half Ian Morgan knocked over the straightforward conversion for a 7-3 lead.
Coney Hill responded by throwing everything at ‘Town’ for the next 20 minutes but pinned in their own half Camborne’superb defence held firm. Front row forwards, Nigel Endean, Brian Andrew and Andy Bartle, were destroying the visiting scrum and locks Lee Pengilly and Wetherelt plus the backrow trio continually knocked back the attackers.
Barnett finally reduced the deficit with a 31st minute penalty but soon after skipper Morgan was on target with an angled penalty to make it 10-6.
Just before the interval Morgan crowned a great half for his team with a well taken 30 metre drop goal after some surging forward driving play.
Five minutes into the 2nd period the Cherry & Whites bagged the games decisive score with their 2nd try for a crucial 14 point cushion.
From a lineout catch and drive to the Coney Hill line the ball was worked right into midfield. When the all action Downing was held March was on hand to receive a pass and crash through several tackles to touch down at the posts for Morgan to convert.
Minutes later Morgan increased the lead to 23-6 with a well struck long rang penalty goal.
In a scrappy last half hour the visitors showed their resolve but were frequently denied by good home tackling and the ball winning of Penrose, until following a string of penalties at the death they reduced the arrears with a well worked try by lock Simon King.
