Manchester U15s 10 vs. Bolton & Tyldesley U15 Girls 31
3 of our girls from Bolton (Rebecca Trist, Georgie Greenwood & Daisy Greaves) combined with 9 from Tyldesley and they had an
excellent all round performance in their first fixture as a combined team against the Manchester U15 girls team that comprised 9 girls
from Manchester & 3 from Sandbach. After several excursions by both teams into the opposing team’s 22, Bolton took the lead after
15 minutes following a break that included our Georgie Greenwood before the final pass was given to our Rebecca Trist who reached
out for the line to score towards the right hand corner. Rebecca successfully converted for a 0-7 lead.
A few minutes later, following a break on the left by Sarah & strong support from centre Charlotte and our Rebecca, scrum half Laura
then scored in the left hand corner. 0-12 Half Time
Manchester came back at Bolton with 3 scrums from 5 metres but each time the Bolton defence held firm and the ball was held up
over the try line. Manchester began the second half strongly and were camped on the Bolton line for at least 10 minutes. During this
time they were successful in moving the ball out to their left winger who scored in the left hand corner on 2 occasions. Laura made a
long break from the Bolton half and passed to centre Bojan who scored under the posts. Rebecca then completed the conversion.
A great unbroken string of passes by the team from the Bolton half led to Laura scoring again under the posts and Rebecca
completed the conversion. A blitz through midfield by Bojan split the Manchester defence and a pass out of the tackle enable Laura
to score her 3rd individual try.
Bolton & Tyldesley are combining again to take part in a new U15 Girls Team Tournament, sponsored by IDN Supplies, on 6th April
at Bolton RUFC with visiting teams from the 2 other new U15 Girls teams in the North West this season, namely Manchester and
Barrow in Furness.
