Eccles v Bolton Under 8's
Bolton under 8's arrived at Eccles with a strong squad of 16 players. Following discussion with the Eccles coaches two games took place.
5-6 year olds and 7-8 year olds. Large crowds had gathered to watch both games.Following an active warm up and a stirring team talk it was
obvious that the 7-8's were up for the game.
7 and 8Yr Olds
Eccles had first run of the ball and it soon became clear that Bolton were in for a stern test today. Early tries were exchanged with Eccles
defensive line looking strong, however, Bolton's attacking style and excellent support play soon began to pay dividends.
As half time approached the game was still in the balance with both teams playing some excellent rugby.
The second half was much of the same, however, Bolton surged ahead with three unanswered tries. As the game drew to a close tries were
exchanged regularly as players from both sides began to tire, however at the final whistle Bolton just clinched a well deserved victory.
Credit must be given to both sets of players who gave their all and played the game in the right manner and spirit. Well played Bolton 7-8's
that was well deserved, and a big thank you to Eccles 7-8's. A great game and more importantly, a great team effort. Well done kids,
top marks.
5 and 6 YR Olds
The 5-6's also had a tough game to deal with and did very well to draw with a well disciplined Eccles team. Once again an excellent team
performance.
In these two games both sets of Bolton players showed excellent team spirit and not a little skill considering their young age.
All players involved with these two games desreve a round of applause. Well done the kids, "Who are we? Bolton Rugby!!!!"
