Sunday October 21st U15’s
Bolton 23-7 Fleetwood
Fleetwood arrived in their coach with their big squad of 21 players. Bolton, having 8 players away, had a basic 16. Some
people playing in new positions, filling in for players who were away. Fleetwood came being unbeaten this season and most
of last season, thinking it was going to be a good ‘training’ session. We went into the first half with determination in our new
black and red striped socks, (bought by our new sponsor W Allen Road Haulage). Bolton wanted it more and proved it.
We started the ball rolling with a penalty kick at the beginning of the half, with Matt Veal kicking it over for the first 3 points.
Bolton, just 3 points in front, were playing well and working hard against their big pack. We were in their 22 and it was a scrum.
The ball came out at their side but with great pressure from Phil Cavill and Gareth Liles, their scrum half stumbled and Callum
picked up the ball. He ran across the try line putting 5 points extra onto the scoreboard. We battled on until the whistle went for the end of the first half. 8-0 to Bolton.
The second half was just as physical with the backline holding strong against the oncoming attacks. Some good teamwork and
a lot of pressure later we were looking at another 5 points, with Ben Mars running down the left wing and scoring his first try.
13-0 to Bolton. The forwards were driving their pack backwards with our backs in support. After many mauls and rucks another Bolton player, Jake Ball, went over the line scoring our third try. 18-0. Bolton had Fleetwood were they wanted them, but a lack of concentration from Bolton
and the consequence was a Fleetwood try and conversion. 18-7 to Bolton.
Bolton took it back to them after the re-start and drove them up field. Playing in the middle of the field we wanted to get a final
try. After what felt like forever, we got the ball out to Ben Mars who then again ran down the left wing for his second try and the
end of the match. This was the final piece of play after a very physical and well fought for match. Some brilliant teamwork and a
good match all in all.
23-7 to Bolton thanks to our new ‘go faster’ socks.

Bolton 28 Tyldesley 0
First Half
We travelled to Tyldsley with a full squad. Already, for the second time we faced this
team with their huge forward pack. After beating them in the league they were up for
it from the start. Most of the first half we could not break through but with a great
forward drive; ball out to backs and hands all down the wing it was all over for our first
try in no time at all. Unfortunately the game was stopped as Tyldesley's scrum half ran
into his own player and broke his wrist. With a break in play (no pun intended) Chicken
George entertained the crowd.
Second Half
The game was on and we showed some of the best play I have seen. Pure teamwork!
With the size of our squad and combined fitness we just overpowered them scoring 3
more great tries and conversions. We won for the second time against them.
Keep it up lads. Your hits keep getting bigger.
Our best wishes go to Tyldsley's scrum half.
Thanks to Tom Davies for filling in for scrum half for the opposition.
Thanks also to our parent supporters - week in and week out standing on the touchline.

Match Report by Alex Marr:
Bolton vs Tyldesley RUFC, 7 October 2007
24 : 12
The second league match of the season gave the Bolton U15s a convincing win.
Although Tyldesley scored first early in the first half, a strong combined effort between forwards and backs meant
that Tom Davies of Bolton scored soon after.
It was a good running game from the Bolton players and throughout there was strong tackling from the Bolton side
with Ashton, Ali Alhakeem and Smyth distinguishing themselves. Further tries from Mills and McGrath sealed the
win for a dominant Bolton team.
