LEEDS CARNEGIE “COACH THE COACHES” MASTER CLASS 2011
Leeds Carnegie are delighted to announce details of their 2011 “Coach The Coaches” Programme, the launch of which takes place on Tuesday 25th January, 7 for 7.30 pm start at Headingley Carnegie Stadium with Special Guest Speaker ‘Professor Dave Collins’ ( Talent Identification).

*David Collins: Overview of Identifying and Developing young athletes for Elite Performance
Mark Luffman (Leeds Carnegie Academy Manager): The transition of a young player through to an academy player drawing upon principles from Talent ID
Comfort Break: Coffee and teas
Andy Key & Neil Back: Putting theory into practice. Developing players from Academy into Senior players at the highest level
John Bentley: Upcoming Community Leeds Carnegie Community Initiatives and Next Sessions
The Leeds Carnegie Coach The Coaches Launch event is free to attend and is open to coaches of all levels and abilities.

*Professor Dave Collins
Professor of Coaching and Performance at the University of Central Lancashire and Director of Grey Matters Consultants. Previously, as PD of UK Athletics, Dave directed the programme which progressed the team from 24th to 5th (World then Olympic) 21st to 3rd (World Indoors) and 12th to 1st (European Team). Dave has over 90 peer review publications and 25 books/book chapters published. He has worked with over 60 World or Olympic medallists plus professional sports teams, dancers, musicians, and executives in business and public service.
Built on 9 years of research work in Talent Identification and Development (TID), Dave consults with a variety of academies, including Chelsea FC, the British Motor Sport Association and the Singapore Sports School. He led the first generic TD project in the UK for sportscotland, and has provided TD-related training to high level educational (e.g. HAS), sporting (e.g. SPARC, the NZ Sports Institute) and business (e.g. Cranfield University) organisations.
