A 2.5 hour introductory, non-assessed course designed for those teachers and coaches who want to introduce TAG Rugby. The course involves both practical and theory elements
The aim of this course is to acquaint teachers and coaches with the skills and methodology required to introduce tag rugby in a fun and player centred way, through the use of games and fun activities.
There are deliberately no “drills” as players will be able to discover through play. The games demonstrated can be broken down into even smaller games, and defenders can be conditioned and rules changed to ease or apply pressure.
The games and activities can be used over and again, with the focus changed, or they can be adapted and changed as the players develop.”

IRB RUGBY READY
COST: £18
|
From September 2009 all applicants for UKCC Level 1 qualification will have to undertake the 3 hour Start Coaching – Rugby Ready course. The course is available to all coaches and is essential for all coaches involved in the game – regardless of their qualification. The emphasis is on safety, with particular regard to the tackle and scrum, and is delivered by trained and qualified Coach Developers and Coach Educators.
This workshop is aimed at all those who are involved in the well being of rugby players no matter what their age or experience
The workshop will cover 3 major areas of interest
• Injury prevention
• Specific technical aspects of the game (scrum & lineout)
• Injury management
It is expected that all participants will have a greater understanding and be able to describe and illustrate principles of safe practice as they relate to and may be applied in playing, coaching, refereeing and any other aspect of administration or supervision of the game.
Each coach attending will receive a 38 page Rugby Ready Booklet containing information, best practice and ideas on all aspects relating to the playing and coaching of Rugby Union and DVD that illustrates the technical coaching points of Scrum, Lineout, Tackle and Maul

CONTINUOUS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT(CPD)
COST: £15
|
The Continuous Personal Development series in Coaching Rugby Union has been developed by the RFU Coaching Department. It is a series of 2.5 hour theoretical and practical courses which specialise in one or more of the following areas: - technical, tactical, mental, lifestyle & physical, coaching process
Each course has been designed so that it can be delivered specifically for the 3 main coaching populations; Mini, Youth and Adult
