Mini and Junior Section
Holders of the RFU Seal of Approval Award
Formed in 1972 with a handful of keen local youngsters and equally keen adults, the Mini and
Junior Section has gone from strength to strength.
Walsall have squads in all age groups, from U7's to U17's and hold the RFU's Seal of Approval
and Sport England's ClubMark for excellence in standards and child protection.
Almost 300 children participate in rugby at Delves Road with new players, in all age groups,
continually arriving throughout the season - never to be turned away and always made welcome!
We have a strong team of coaches, many of whom are past players of the club and are now
parents themselves. All coaches are CRB checked and qualified to Level One minimum.
Every Sunday from early September to April's end, starting at 10.30am the season gets under
away. New players need only turn up to join in!
The Mini and Junior Section regularly provides Walsall Senior Teams with players that have come
through our programme. Indeed, many players at all ages and into adulthood achieve District,
County honours and beyond!
We encourage all Mini and Junior Families to come along to training and matches - and, dare I
add, even volunteer to fill one of the many posts that always require attention.
There is a strong family atmosphere that is prevalent with parents, players and coaches of all
age groups socialising before and, particularly, after training and games.
