TRURO's rugby players begin preparations for life back in Tribute Western Counties West after several years of struggle, are on the up under the guidance of coaches Phil Angove and Graham Whitmore.
All of last season's squad which went up from the Cornwall and Devon League after finishing third have remained, which has delighted coach Angove.
"We have kept everyone which is great," he said.
There are six Cornish teams in the new-look Western Counties West which is something Angove is relishing.
"It reduces the travel and the gates will be up which is good for everyone."
Angove though is cautious about Truro's hopes of a second successive promotion.
"It is going to be a higher standard of rugby but I am sure we will be competitive and won't be anybody's whipping boys. We will keep our feet on the ground and continue to try and develop players."
Truro start their league campaign at Devonport Services on Saturday September 5 and their first home match is the following Saturday against Wadebridge Camels.
