Telford Hornets U10's came back after the festive break with this season's first, second, third and fourth best performances in a triangular meeting away to local Newport! In the first fixture versus Newport, Telford were completely dominant in the scrum with Jake Bradburn, Daniel Brammer and James Morton together in the first outing as the front three, However despite blazing away at the Newport line for much of the second half Hornets drew the tie 1 try apiece with James Morton scoring Hornet's sole try with a fine effort running the length of the pitch to score.
The second fixture versus Newport saw Hornets giving full debuts to Kieran Chouhan and Khalil Ali who acquitted themselves well against a direct running Newport side, with Hornets eventually losing five tries to one.
Telford then took on Shrewsbury in what turned out to be a thrilling four three win for the Hornets. This was a very strong all round team performance with special mentions for strong decisive running from Daniel Brammer, Matthew Hudson and Daniel Eatough; with tackle after crunching tackle coming from Luca. Two sniping tries from scrum half Alex McGuire set the platform for the Hornets win, with the winning try coming from a reverse pass inside from Oliver Richards to James Morton who capped off a fine Hornets try. In the final game Hornets narrowly lost five tries to four in an entertaining encounter with Shrewsbury.

On Sunday Hornets under tens took on Oswestry away and continued with their recent improvements in their overall team play. The series finished two games apiece with fine individual performances from Matthew Hudson on the wing and Daniel Eatough at scrum half with tries from James Morton and Conor Bruce. Coach Mike McGrath was pleased with the showing but highighted the need for the team to hold their shape and not to overcommit at the rucks and mauls.

Sunday saw Hornets U10's travel to Sutton Coldfield, and put in
their most convincing performance of the season during their first
of a series of three matches at Sutton Coldfield.
The first game vs Sutton Coldfield saw a very disciplined team
performance with Hornets running in eleven unanswered tries, scored
from James Morton, Connor Bruce, Daniel Brammer, Jake Bradburn and
Oliver Richards. The highlight of the game came with Alex McGuire touching
down after a flowing passing move starting deep in the Hornets half.
This blistering performance stunned the Hornets management leaving
Rob McGuire speechless!
Hornets lost their composure in the final two games suffering heavy losses
to Sutton Coldfield "A" Stourbridge.
Next week Hornets travel away to Oswestry.

U10's North Midlands Matches at Kidderminster Carolians Festival 20th November
Sunday saw a depleted Hornets under ten squad put in their grittiest
performances of the season at the Kidderminster Carolians U10's tournament.
First game against Kidderminster saw a 5-0 defeat. The score line did not tell the
full story with surging breaks from both Jake Bradburn and James Morton
coming close to scoring and strong rucking from Pip King.
Second game saw Hornets take on local rivals Shrewsbury in a tightly
contested 4 0 defeat. From the start Hornets upped their intensity levels
with Daniel Eatough strong in the rucks and some powerful tackling from
Sam Gower and Oliver Richards.
Third game versus Redditch saw a strong start with a surge from tournament
debutante Daniel Brammer, slickly offloading to Connor Bruce for Hornets first try.
Two breakaway tries from James Morton and one from raging bull Jake Bradburn
capped a Hornets first win of the season and a place in the Plate Tournament.
The Plate quarter final was a very tight affair, with Hornets losing by just
one try to Hereford. Strong running by Matthew Hudson just failed to breech
the Hereford try line.
Hornets coaching quartet were very satisfied with the squad's performance
and now look forward to the trip next week away to Sutton Coldfield.
