So it's another year in Midlands 4 after losing today 21- 10 at Clee Hill. Matters were not helped with late cry offs and unavailability, we had 5 props in the front 5 and had to rely on Justin Tyrer in the line out. On todays performance we would struggle in League 3. Missed tackles, lack of support and sloppy passing let us down badly. Clee Hill took the lead on 10 minutes after a run up the left wing (when 5 tackles were missed), this was converted to give them a 7-0 lead. Liam Evans responded with a 25 minute penalty. Clee Hill dominated for the rest of the half but we managed to keep them at bay. Much against the run of play a charged down kick saw Justin Tyrer touch down, Liam converted to give us a 10-7 lead. Clee Hill hit back 5 minutes later with a converted try and on the final minute crossed again for a converted try.
We end the season with 59 points, Cannock lost and Bloxwich won today, Cannock 59 Bloxwich 61, so the final game between these 2 sides will decide who takes 2nd place and promotion. Next season we will have Uttoxeter and Harborne down from 3 and Bromyard and Five Ways OE up from 5(unless there is a restructuring of the Leagues)
