WELCOME TO SWAFFHAM RUFC YOUTH SECTION
The Spirit of the Swaffham RUFC Youth Section is to engender a positive, enthusiastic attitude towards the playing of Rugby football with exemplary behaviour both on and off the field.
We expect all our players to be a credit, not only to themselves and their parents but also to Swaffham RUFC and the wider community.
We encourage first and foremost the players’ enjoyment and safety of the game, and that irrespective of skill level or age that they will play at every possible opportunity both in training and friendly matches.
It is our belief that to play a sophisticated team game such as rugby, players need to develop respect for authority and respect for others, and demonstrate commitment to fair play and to team play. These characteristics are beneficial to the individual and, ultimately, to the local community as a whole. The Club fully embraces these principles and adheres strictly to the RFU policy for development of children's rugby. We provide RFU qualified coaches and referees, and are frequently complimented on the style of play and the attitude of our players. We were the first club in the region to be awarded the RFU’s Seal of Approval and continue to strive to develop the whole club in line with it recommendations.
