U14 Match reports
Swaffham U14 entertained their Wymondham counterparts on Sunday. A close
encounter was expected and the match lived up to expectations.
Despite missing some key players on the day, Swaffham started their first
match of the season well with their forwards dominating in the scrum and
backs eager to run at pace. Wymondham were finding it hard to keep Swaffham
at bay and following a series of well contested rucks, Evans picked up to go
over low for a good score in the corner. Harris scored Swaffhams 2nd try
following more good work in the set pieces.
Wymondham regrouped at half time and Swaffham came under pressure for much
of the second half finally conceding a try following the visitors well
worked maul. Wymondham were then camped in Swaffhams half but were held up
more than once by determined tackling close to Swaffhams line with Bessent &
Stolworthy particularly worthy of mention.
This was a very keenly contested early season game between two well matched
teams who both came out of the match with credit.
Final Score: Swaffham U14's 10 Wymondham U14's 5
